Hi friends! I’ve been absent from blogging for a few weeks and I’ve missed you! I’m blogging this post from my iPad in Fort Smith, AR. I’m here for work and will blog about my trip this next week.
Jodi Arias Trial
There have been some big news making stories of late. One of them being the verdict in the Jodi Arias murder trial. If you haven’t been watching the live court room footage on truTV, you may not be too familiar with this case. I, on the other hand, am obsessed with truTV and trials in general. Maybe I picked the wrong profession… 
Jodi Arias was charged in the 2008 gruesome murder of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander.
This week, after the jury deliberated for over 15 hours, she was found guilty of first-degree murder. It was a grueling trial to watch and I’m sure the Alexander family can breathe a little easier now that this nightmare is over.
Cleveland Girls Rescue
The second big news story this past week was the rescue of three girls in Cleveland who were held captive for 10 years. Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Georgina DeJesus were all found alive and have since been released from the hospital. Ariel Castro has been arrested and charged in their abductions.
Amanda Berry reportedly screamed for help on Monday May 6th. A neighbor heard her cries and kicked in the door. They, then, called 911 and police came to the home and found Knight and DeJesus along with a 6 year old little girl who is reportedly the daughter of Berry and Castro.
I’m hopeful these ladies can return to a semi-normal life now that their nightmare is over. I’m sure they have a long road of recovery ahead of them. I’m grateful they were found alive. They are strong and proved to be through their years of captivity. They never gave up.

Enjoy your weekend! I hope all of you mothers out there have a fabulous Mother’s Day! And on a special note to all of you single fathers – I celebrate you tomorrow as well for taking on the role of mommy and daddy in your little ones lives. It’s a thankless role that, in my opinion, doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.
